III. BuzzFeed to Use ChatGPT Creator OpenAI to Help Create Quizzes and Other Content
BuzzFeed Inc. has announced its intention to use AI technology from OpenAI to enhance its quizzes and personalize content for its audiences, with CEO Jonah Peretti expecting AI to assist the creative process while humans provide ideas and “cultural currency”. The move has caused some concern among staff, but Peretti has assured them that AI will not be used to reduce the workforce or produce low-quality content.
II. University of Texas Will Offer Large-Scale Online Master’s Degree in A.I.
The University of Texas at Austin has announced a large-scale, low-cost online Master of Science degree program in artificial intelligence, the first of its kind among elite computing schools. The program is intended to make A.I. education more affordable and will include advanced courses in machine learning, A.I. applications in health, and natural language processing. The university plans to open applications for the program this June, with the aim of enrolling more than 2,000 students per year.
