Crossing the Bridge of Nihilism

Oct 16, 2022

What is the meaning of life? A question pondered for ages. And you can only find the answers on the other side of the Bridge of Nihilism.

The Bridge of Nihilism is a concept embraced by thinkers throughout history as disparate as Lao Tzu, Carl Jung, and Socrates — to Shakespeare himself. I heard it described by podcast host Jim O’Shaughnessy in a recent episode of Infinite Loops. And it’s mind-blowing.

There is no meaning to life.

And once you’ve crossed that bridge and realize there is no meaning to life, you’ll understand you get to determine the meaning of your own life. You’ve won the cosmic lottery. In fact, your very existence means you’ve already beaten nearly impossible odds.
