Data Security Company Theom Closes Oversubscribed $16.5M Seed Round
Earlier this week, data security company Theom closed an oversubscribed 16 seed round. Ridge ventures led the round, with participation from M12, Microsoft’s Venture fund. The funding will allow Theom to expand their cloud and data security solutions in the global cloud storage market, which is expected to grow from $83.4B in 2022 to $367.3B 2029, according to Fortune Business Insights.
Yousef Khan, a partner at Ridge Ventures, noted an exponential increase in data moving to the cloud. Securing that data is a top priority for most organizations, and Theom is positioned to solve this challenge.
Notably, Theom’s team has a proven track record with data and cloud security; previously working with Cisco, Google, Yahoo, Zscaler, and IBM. CEO and co-founder Navindra Yadav says, “Theom ensures controls follow the data like a bodyguard — just like the Secret Service bodyguards do — by identifying high-value assets, assessing risks continuously, ensuring that protection always follows, and adapting the security as environments change.”
