Defense Technology Company Vannevar Labs Lands $75M Series B Round

Artificial Intelligence Companies to Watch

Vannevar Labs, a defense technology company providing state-of-the-art technology to solve the toughest national security problems, has raised a $75M series B round led by Felicis and new investors DFJ Growth and Aloft VC. The total raised to date is over $90 million. Existing investors General Catalyst, Point72 Ventures, Costanoa Ventures, and Shield Capital also participated. The new investment will fund the development of new products and help win the company’s first multi-year contract for their premier AI-based product, Decrypt.

“We exist to bring the best engineering and product talent to the most important national security problems,” Vannevar Labs CEO Brett Granberg said in a company release. “This funding will allow us to much more aggressively invest in R&D for the products we’re fielding with the government.”

The company’s flagship product, Decrypt, helps policy-makers understand and respond to foreign actors in ways previously not possible by leveraging decentralized data and applying Natural Language Processing models that ensures accurate translations and manages attribution layers with multi-layered obfuscation methods.

Launched in January of 2021, Decrypt has been deployed across 15 agencies, bringing in $25 million in revenue. In late 2022, the company also deployed two additional products in new mission areas.
