Education of a Retail Investor

I’m crowdsourcing a finance book. It’s called Education of a Retail Investor.

But I’m writing it for myself. Morgan Housel says, “Writing is the ultimate test of whether your thoughts make sense or are merely gut feelings.”

Investors do all kinds of exercises to make sense of the world — modeling scenarios in spreadsheets, conducting diligence on management, or reading pitch decks. But few exercises help clarify your thoughts better than writing. — Morgan Housel

The book title is homage to two very different, but legendary investors: Howard Lindzon and Guy Spier.

“But Pete, how can you crowdsource a book if you’re writing it for yourself?”

I’m so glad you asked. I’ll be writing about stock investing, along with new opportunities in crypto, NFTs, and the revolution in the fractional ownership markets. I’m releasing the book on the blog first, chapter-by-chapter. Your comments will inform the final version of the book.

Whether you’re just starting out, or starting over, there’s really never been a better time in history to be a retail investor.

Besides, two of the best nonfiction books started out as blogs: Atomic Habits, and Psychology of Money.

Also, I never quit.
