Hedy Lamarr
Did you actress Hedy Lamarr was the first woman to simulate an orgasm on screen?
The year was 1933, long before Harry ever met Sally.
During her time as an actress in the 1940s and 50s, she was considered “the most beautiful woman in the world.”
But more than just a pretty face, Hedy was also a scientist. She co-patented spread-spectrum technology during WWII designed to stop the Nazis from jamming torpedoes, though her designs weren’t implemented until the Cold War. Her technology would eventually be used to develop wifi and Bluetooth technology.
