Hunting Antelope or Chasing Field Mice?

A lion is capable of capturing, killing, and eating a field mouse. But the energy required to do so exceeds the caloric content of the mouse. A lion cannot live on diet of field mice. A lion that spends the day eating field mice will starve to death.

A lion needs antelope. Antelope are big animals. It takes more speed and strength to capture and kill an antelope, but once killed, they provide a feast for the lion. A lion can live a long and happy life on a diet of antelope.

Do you spend all your time and energy chasing field mice? Doing so might give you a feeling of accomplishment in the short term. In the long term, you’ll be dead. Ask yourself, “Am I spending my days chasing field mice or hunting antelope?”
