Milo of Croton

Jun 12, 2023

Did you know Milo of Croton trained for the Olympics by carrying a calf around each day?

In the off years, Milo would train by carrying a calf on his back.

The calf grew bigger, increasing the weight Milo had to carry around — stimulating muscle growth. (remember, this was long before Arnold’s ‘Pumping Iron’ came out.)

Milo took the gold six times at the Olympics.

Legend has it Milo would walk in to the Olympic stadium carrying a full-grown cow. He would then kill, grill, and eat it right there.
