The Seinfeld Finale

--

Did you know TV Land halted regularly scheduled programming during the final episode of Seinfeld?

Instead, the channel broadcast a still shot of a closed office door with two ‘handwritten’ notes saying 1) We’re TV fans, so… 2) We’re watching the last episode of Seinfeld. Will return at 10pm et, 7pm pt.

The final Seinfeld show aired on NBC on May 14, 1998 to an estimated 76 million viewers.

The top price for a 30-seccond commercial for the final Seinfeld was $1 million — a first in television history for a regular primetime show.
