An AI-controlled fighter jet took the Air Force leader for a historic ride. What that means for war

AI-controlled fighter jets are already beating human pilots in air-to-air combat.

  • This is a significant development — AI is rapidly advancing and will soon have a major impact on warfare.
  • The United States is currently the only country with an AI jet like Vista, which is capable of learning from real-world flight data.
  • The United States has a significant advantage in the development of AI-enabled aircraft.

Elon’s Plan For AI News

Grok will not look directly into article text, but will instead rely solely on social posts to generate news summaries. What could go wrong?

Grok differs from other AI news summarizers because:

  • It relies solely on social posts to summarize news, rather than article text.
  • It incorporates social reaction into its summaries.
  • It does not link directly to the original articles it summarizes.

Again, I ask you, what could possibly go wrong with this? smh.

Powerful New Chatbot Disappears as Mysteriously as It Arrived

Allegedly, the gpt2-chatbot could solve a math riddle involving learning some inexplicit rules that other AI models could not.

  • Reasons well.
  • Outlined detailed plans for complicated tasks.
  • It is in the same class of AI models that only a handful of developers worldwide have been able to achieve.
  • gpt2-chatbot’s mysterious origins — There’s no evidence for the claims, but tweets from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and other executives have added fuel to the fire.

The model was out for less than 24 hours, disappearing on Tuesday afternoon. Is it coming back? Well, LMSYS Org says to “stay-tuned for its broader releases.”

COOL TOOLS

How about making a masterclass on anything? You can now with Instaclass. And it’s not AI generated, more like “AI-curated” from existing content. Yeah, the vintage car class caught my attention, though you’d probably make more selling classes than selling cars — like almost everything on the internet.

DataLab

Looking for insights from your own data? DataLab lets you attach your own sources and query your own data using GPT4. I’m not sure how it’s any better than Google’s NotebookLM; however, DataLab is running the OpenAI LLM. In the end I was underwhelmed. I got faster results uploading my data directly into OpenAI. As a matter of fact, I got so bored waiting for DataLab I logged out without letting it finish. Maybe the Premium version is faster? I sure hope so.

Waiting…
