Visualization with a Twist
You’ve probably heard of the benefits of visualization. Athletes do it. So do many successful actors, entrepreneurs and musicians. And many have spoken publicly about how using visualization techniques have enhanced their performance and helped them reach the top of their fields. Perhaps, like me, you’ve tried it in the past, but never really stuck with it.
What if I told you there was a better way to practice visualization?
I learned the technique from Steven Bartlett’s interview of Dr. Tara Swart
It’s standard fare, but with a twist. Add gratitude. Tara recommends sitting down and visualizing all those things you aspire to in your life, your business, or your career as being true, and then give gratitude for that; as if you’d already achieved it. You only need to do it for five minutes a day. Feel it in your body. Taste it in your mouth. Hear it in your ears — completely immerse yourself for five minutes; and at the end just be grateful. Tara says what you’re doing is moving your brain from a fear state to a trust state. And that is the gateway to making lasting changes.
